Relationship Coach Apologizes After Becoming a Single Mother

A relationship coach has shared an emotional apology after admitting she spent years judging single mothers before becoming one herself.

Princess Janet said she used to believe that women who became single mothers had made poor choices. She even opposed her brother’s decision to marry a woman who was already raising two children on her own because she assumed the woman was not a good match.

According to Janet, she believed that staying a virgin until marriage, respecting her husband, praying, and being a faithful wife would guarantee a happy marriage.

She said she followed those beliefs, married before having children, and tried to save her marriage when her husband became unfaithful. She explained that she prayed, forgave him repeatedly, and stayed despite emotional and verbal abuse because she wanted to keep her family together.

Despite her efforts, she said her husband eventually left her and their four children. She added that he later started a relationship with a woman who was already a single mother of two.

Now 32 years old and raising four children alone, Janet said the experience changed the way she sees single mothers.

She admitted she was wrong to judge them and said becoming a single mother taught her that people often face situations they never expected. She explained that many women become single mothers because of broken relationships, betrayal, or difficult life circumstances—not because they are bad people.

Janet said she has learned that being a single mother is not a sign of failure or poor character. Instead of asking what a single mother did wrong, she now believes people should ask what challenges she has overcome.

She ended by encouraging others not to judge people, saying that life can change unexpectedly and anyone can find themselves in a situation they once criticized.
