Davido Slams Omoyele Sowore for Calling His Uncle, Governor Adeleke, ‘Empty-Headed’
Nigerian music star Davido has reacted angrily to comments made by publisher and politician Omoyele Sowore about his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Sowore recently criticised Adeleke’s leadership during an interview, questioning the governor’s control over the affairs of Osun State.
While discussing Adeleke’s administration, Sowore claimed that the governor was not fully in charge of the state. He alleged that members of Adeleke’s family were playing a major role in running the government.
Sowore specifically mentioned the governor’s sister and Davido’s father, billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, as people he believed had influence over the administration.
According to Sowore, he became concerned after watching Governor Adeleke during an Arise TV town hall programme.
He questioned how Adeleke was able to govern the state and claimed that the governor’s family was effectively running the government.
Sowore also made a controversial remark about Adeleke, saying that the governor had “nothing upstairs,” suggesting that he lacked the ability or understanding needed to effectively lead the state.

Davido Reacts
Davido did not appear to agree with Sowore’s comments about his uncle.
The singer reacted to a video of the interview shared online and fired back at the politician.
Davido referred to Sowore as “Arindin,” a Yoruba word commonly used to describe someone as foolish or lacking sense.
His response quickly attracted attention from fans and social media users, with many people debating the comments made by both men.
The disagreement has also drawn attention to the role of the Adeleke family in Osun State politics, especially because Governor Ademola Adeleke is related to several prominent members of the family.
Sowore’s Criticism of Adeleke
Sowore’s comments were part of his wider assessment of Governor Adeleke’s performance in office.
He questioned whether the governor had enough control over his administration and suggested that other members of his family were involved in important decisions affecting the state.
However, the claims made by Sowore represent his personal assessment of the governor and have not been independently established.
Governor Adeleke has continued to lead Osun State, while his administration has supporters and critics who have different views about his performance.
Davido’s response has now added a new dimension to the controversy, turning the political criticism into a public exchange involving one of Nigeria’s biggest music stars.
The incident has continued to generate reactions online, with social media users sharing different opinions about Sowore’s comments and Davido’s response.
